How to get Noticed in the Music Industry
Okay, so you have all the tools for making music and even have your own album. But, if people don’t know who you are – why would they want to buy your album in the first place? Becoming noticed in the music industry isn’t tricky but it does require a lot of work. For example, you will need to spend money on marketing and even make music brochures for an upcoming concert that your holding at a well known restaurant. What if you are someone who does not have a large budget for holding concerts? This can be a problem for people who are just starting out. Many music artists are very young and most of the time, do not have the funds for major marketing. Luckily, here are a few things you can do to get you noticed.
Use Youtube for creating music videos. You can easily record your voice from home. Be sure to add background music or a lovely melody that goes with your song. You want your song to be a hit on Youtube, so do whatever you can to make it sound like the next best thing. Getting noticed doesn’t mean singing songs with low quality. It means putting out that #1 hit that stuns the world and gives record labels a reason to beg you to hop on board.
Ask a few restaurants if you can play for them. If you have great music and they are willing to listen beforehand, they may change their mind and want someone to come weekly. This can really help some restaurants, especially the new ones! Look for ones that have recently opened.
Play your music at house parties, weddings, or even birthdays. You can do a couple of free gigs on Craiglist if you want to get noticed in the music industry. At the same time, you could make money doing this so be sure to get some business cards made.
